End of High School Art Reflection
This is my last year at Haddon Township. I have had 3 fun years of art class. Of course my first year in art was hard but I enjoyed everything we did. Yes there were some assignments that I wasn't too fond of but it widened my experience. It also made me realize that art isn't just drawing and painting. By the second year I was slightly familiar with what we were doing. The third year I remembered almost everything and it made things a lot more easier for me. Because I was more focused on getting things done right and on time I couldn't really do the things that I wanted to do. Now in the third year I knew what I was doing and I was able to do a lot. When I first joined art class all I really knew was how to draw and that was the only thing I wanted to do. Now I also enjoy ceramics, metal work, constructing our books, and shading. These 3 years of art has really shown me how much more valuable art is. It has also made me have much more respect and appreciate it. I will miss having this class with my friends and I hope my younger sister Noelle will see all the things that I saw, if not more.
Time Capsule
I found the time capsule very enjoyable to make. It's going to be hard not to open it as soon as possible. I love Greek Mythology and to incorporate it into my box, I made my box into Pandora's box. And when I open it all of the memories will begin to pour out and I will remember. At the bottom of the box will be hope, which is the letter I wrote to my future self. I put my friend's artwork in my box, pictures of new friends and old, my own drawings, drawing pencils from my first year of art, little drawings my Nicky Snicky drew for me, and a few other things. I put items in there from the list and a few other things to add character to it. I think my box says that I'm a happy person. I want all the negative things in my life to be overshadowed by the happier times in life. When I open this box I smile and I hope that when other people see it, they will smile too. Of course their curiosity will get to them and they will be pleased as to what they gaze upon.

Two Sides of the Same Coin
"If there is evil in this world, it lurks in the hearts of man."
Death, destruction, sorrow, and resentment are the only things that linger within the people and the town. Derris-Kharlan, land of the divine, was under attack by a malicious demon. He was powerful and devious and sought out only the pain and suffering of others. What he desired most was to conquer not only the world but it's people. Despite the hatred between the villages, the ecclesiastic's were able to come together and pacify the demon. They sealed him into an unworldy object, a teddy bear. It was completely overlooked by most people as you would not expect something so evil to be in such a innocent thing. As the bear was being taken to another place where it would be guarded the Desians, who were the demon's followers, attacked and the bear suddenly vanished. The ecclesiatic knew that Reiga, who was the demon residing in the bear, was misplaced but did not inform the people as it would cause great disorder among the lands. They searched silently but found not even a single trace of it. The villages hatred for one another grew ever so stronger after the Demon's first attack. The 3 villages nearby blamed each other as each contrubutited to the overall consequence. Derris-Kharlan was on its way to recovery and soon things seemed to return to normal.
Afterwards, a young girl named Mithos was born. As far as she knew, she had no parents. Ecclesiatic's found her as a child while searching for the bear. What made them take her back to the village was that she was carrying a teddy bear. They weren't sure if this bear was the one that the demon was in but her refusal to give up the bear made them slightly suspicious. Mithos doesn't recall what happened to her parents or how she came to be in the forest alone. All that she knows is that deep inside her parents are the ones who gave the teddy bear to her. She attended school and was different from all the other kids. Mithos was teased because she carried the bear around. Her instructors however saw the potential she had. Mithos was far superior than her classmates and this made them dislike her even more than before.
On an eerie night Mithos went to the garden and something spoke to her. "Head my call" the voice said. Mithos listened as she didn't have anyone to call a friend till now. Mithos gazed upon the stars above her "you'll be here for me, right Reiga?" A slight breeze went by it caused the leaves to dance around them. "My loyalty is forever yours" Reiga replied. This made Mithos smile as she hugged the bear "I'm glad I have someone now."
After this night Mithos has become even stronger both mentally and physically. The rapid improvement alarmed the ecclesiatics and they went to investigate the problem further. At this point they knew that the bear was the one they have been searching for. When they tried to seize the bear Mithos wouldn't let them have it. The ecclesiatics then attacked her but Mithos defended herself, or did she? Mithos' eyes began to look like there was no longer a soul within her. Reiga was controlling her and killed the ecclesiatics. When Mithos came to she realized what had happened and fled from the village. "I know what you were trying to do Reiga but please, don't kill people. There could have been other ways to protect me." She kept running till she reached a clearing in the forest. "There is no other way." Reiga answered.
Mithos stared at the ground thinking about what he said. If there's no other way how can they remain together? "I know what you are Reiga. You were the one who destroyed the village." There was nothing but silence between the two. Reiga was a demon who killed thousands of people and Mithos who is pure and kindhearted. Nothing makes sense anymore so why continue to run. Mithos smiled and hugged the bear "let's go back, and finish what was started." A chilling laugh came from within the bear "indeed we shall." The unlikely pair would seek to conquer the land. Regia the Leige of the Underworld and Mithos the Hero, two different beings who seek the same goal.
Mithos' memories never returned to her but she knew someone was there to guild her. Reiga manipulated his way to power but he was manipulated as well. His heart slowly began to change and he genuially started to protected her. Sometimes things do change.

Fortune Cookie Page
The fortune cookie inspired page is made from the 6 fortunes we received from the cookies. With these we have to create a piece of art for our books. I got this idea for using eyes because they can tell many stories just from one glance. It isn't quite finished but it looks pretty good the way it is right now. When I thought of our 6 good fortunes I thought of the 7 deadly sins. I'm trying to incorporate that into the fortunes. The good mixed in with the bad. At the end of this I'am hoping it will come out how I imagine it.
Art X 3
For our art x 3 we had to start a collage then give it to someone else and trade it away again. So you are now given a piece of work that two people have already worked on and you have to finish it and make it your own. My reaction to this was that I wasn't very fond of it and I didn't want to work on something that wasn't mine to start with, but it was exciting in a way. It was a challenge to finish off something that wasn't yours and try to follow what the others were going for and yet making sure that it's yours. A life lesson that I learned was that you might have to give away something that you thought was yours but its really someone else's.
Pop Print
Our next assignment was a pop print piece. We had to draw an object that means something to us and I chose a rose. After we drew it we had to darken and thick in the lines so that when we cut them, we will be able to see the lines. After that we placed our drawing on top I the stamp piece and pressed down on it so the lines show up on the stamp. We then cut around our drawing and it appeared on the stamp. Once this was all done we got to paint it my color that we wanted. The overall result turned out very nice. I chose a rose because I really like how they look and it reminds me of the movie Beauty and the Beast. Once I got the concept down I was able to make quite a few and it got easier, until you run out of colors you haven't used yet. In the end this was a fun experience and I would gladly do another if I could.

Collection
Just like Portia Munson, we decided that we would create our own collection. Our color was blue and there was many different shades of blue. The collection does tell what time we live in. We like our electronics, video games, jewelry, nail polish, and of course food. It also shows interest. I can't speak for everyone but for me it shows my interest. I enjoy playing video games and painting my nails. My favorite item on the table was the tiara. Sure it's not from our time period really but I like feeling like a princess. Our class collection said many things and told some stories. The fun part will be taking our items back home and see how long others will remain there before they are claimed by their owners. Clutter And Collecting
For this project we are looking at artist who collect things. Whether it be by color, what they like, or just wanting to have it. I feel that it's all collecting. But when this question pops up "is clutter like collecting?" I have a different opinion. I feel that clutter is just random stuff that you don't really care about. It's like that mess in your house or room that tends to pile up, you want to get rid of it but it happens to pile up even more. Collecting is having something that you really love and it means something to you, it's important. I don't feel that clutter is like collecting. Something that I like to collect are porcelain dolls. I love the dresses that they wear and the fact that they are dolls just makes me love them even more. No one is perfect, so why not own something that is?

Candy Bicycle
Between the months of October and November we have been working on two drawings. Both of which are alike but different at the same time. For me the candy jar sketch is more fun but the bicycle sketch was more interesting. I haven't really colored something I drew before, so it is a bit difficult to get all the colors right. Coloring is not as easy as you think. My bike drawing had a lot of things going on, it was important to try and get all the details. This drawing took me a while to complete but it turned out well. It actually looked like a bike. Both drawings had their own aura about them but also resembled each other as well. I can't wait to see what drawings we will do in the future.
Candy Jar Drawing
For our next sketch we had to draw a jar of candy. This will be a tough thing to draw because the candy has to look like it is inside the jar and not floating on the outside of it. So far I have drawn the basic sketch of it and fixed the lines. Currently I'am coloring the candy on the outside of the jar. I'm really enjoying this sketch so far, who doesn't love draw candy? The only downside to this is that we can't eat the candy.

Welcome back!
It's a new year and also my last art class in my High School. I plan on doing even better than my last two years. The thing Im most looking forward too this year is the metal work and of course ceramics. My metal work last year was very good I was impressed with myself, even though I did not have much time to spare. My ceramics setting was better than my last but this year I plan on making a full set. This year I may not have a whole lot of time to work with my ceramics because of all the Senior things going on including the trip! This is my third year of taking art class and I couldn't be more happy. I enjoy art because it's something you yourself create, and it does not matter if it's bad to other people because art is in the eyes of the beholder right? As long as you are proud of your work other people will be too! It makes you feel good when you see your art in it's finished state and hanging in the art show! Im glad that I can spend my final year here in High School participating in this fantastic art class.

Reflections 2013
The end of the school year approaches yet again and many of us scramble to finish our work. And this year I feel like I did accomplish what I planned on in the beginning of the year. This year I wanted my work to be better than it was last year, and I think it is. My favorite project this year was again the ceramic units. I only made 4 pieces but if I do get art again I'm hoping to make a full tea set. Next year will be my last year in school and I hope to make my work even better than this year! I will always try to make my standards even higher so that I can accomplish more.

Love Conquers All
The top picture is a painting of Venus and Mars. On bottom left is a picture of a girl standing on water and everything is being reflected on the other side but in a different form, this means that there's two sides to every story.
Venus, Goddess of Love and Beauty, can make anyone fall in love or even make them beautiful themselves. She can do wonderful things, and yet she can make them twist and turn. Venus can break you apart and even make you terribly ugly.
Mars, God of War, is a ruthless and intimidating man who causes disorder and chaos among others.
These two eventually come together and fall in love with each other. In some ways they are different and in others, they are alike. Mars, a God himself, could not resist Venus' beauty and fell in love with her. This was a mutual attraction though. Venus fell in love with him. Even though by rule they could not love each other, for they were both already married, they couldn't help by having an affair. The Goddess of Love fell in love with the God of War. Who would have thought that two people who seem completely incompatible could fall in love? Mars knew her weaknesses and Venus knew his. Together they had created some very explosive wars. The worst of the wars was when the other Gods believed that they should not be together. Although both sides had suffered from major casualties, the two still remained together. Fighting could not separate them, instead it made them closer. Once all the disputes had been settled Venus and Mars were still together, even though the other Gods did not agree with it. The two put their heads together and held each others hands.
All is fair in love and war.

Blind Contour Self-Portrait Drawing
This year we are doing a blind contour drawing of our face. I'm still working on mine but this is what I have so far. I'm going to continue to do more of these until I create one that I like better then this one, then I'll go into it more. Blind contour is always hard, but at least you can tell that mine is kind of looking like my face.
Empty Bowls Dinner
Every few years we do an empty bowls dinner for the hungry. Every class made bowls and platters and they all turned out very nice. It makes me really happy to be apart of this cause, and to help every hungry person in America. It's important because it's a great feeling to know you have helped someone in need. So many people in America are starving, and it's nice to know that our school is helping out those people.
Winter Themed Lantern
In class we had to create a lantern and pick our favorite season for the theme of it. I chose winter because winter is a magical season, and I had a good idea for it. I decided to put a pretty lady on the side because it was different from what other people were doing. I also added her hand to make it seem like she was blowing snowflakes off of her hand. After we made the design we had to use a paper cutting knife to cut out the shapes for our lanterns. Then you have to add another piece of paper on it. Then your done! (It felt way longer then it actually sounds) all you have to do is light a candle in the center of it and it will light up and cast its shadows. I felt mine turned out very nice.

Venus and Mars
I really like this painting because of the meaning for it, it means love conquers all. Even Mars, God of War stopped fighting for sometime because he fell in love with Venus.
The Birth of Venus
This painting is also another one of my favorites. I like this one because I think it's creative the way she is created. She was born from the ocean and Botticelli painted her standing on a sea shell.
